Lucy Juhnke is Newcastle born, Mid North Coast based artist. Her textural, expressive mixed-media works explore abstraction, still life, and occasionally portraiture. Juhnke has been dedicated to developing her practice over the past 5 years. She has done this mostly through independent experimentation, but also through workshops, creative groups, classes, and life drawing sessions. Lucy has exhibited throughout the Mid North Coast since 2022. In 2024 she expanded to the Southern Tablelands with the group exhibition “Life in Colour” through Tyger Gallery, where she ran her first workshop in 2025.

Lucy is inspired by her connections with the objects, spaces, and people around her. Her practice is highly tactile, unifying the sense of touch with the visual sense. Her works often deal with themes of time and connection, but mostly she just paints because she loves to paint.
