When drawing, we actively use both sides of our brain, the right for creativity, and the left for logical thinking. Drawing as a formal artistic creation might be defined as the principally straightforward portrayal of objects in the perceivable world, as well as concepts, thoughts, attitudes, emotions, and fantasies given visual form, of symbols and even of abstract forms. However in addition to that creativity, there are cognitive and cerebral benefits to drawing. By using both sides of our brains we release endorphins, drawing also helps build new connections and pathways giving us a wholesome and mind growing experience.

An open-door collective of people interested in practising and fine tuning their drawing skills in a self-guided journey within the community space of Sunset Gallery.
The Drawing Society PMQ gathers to connect, collaborate and share skills while honing the art of drawing with the curated content supplied by hosts Sunset Framing & Gallery. With a mix of still life and life drawing there will always be expansion of skills and interesting challenges. Meeting once a month with drawing enthusiasts can purchase a yearly membership that gives them a discounted price or just come with a casual attendance at standard pricing.

Light refreshments will be provided, drawing content will also be provided and will change each month between still life, life drawing and a combination of both with a facilitator guiding members between “quick draw” sessions and longer contemplative sessions each month.
