COLLECTOR'S NOTE: The Choirboys was adapted from former LAPD officer Joseph Wambaugh's 1975 bestselling novel and directed by Robert Aldrich, whose credits include The Dirty Dozen and The Longest Yard. Its ensemble cast is particularly notable today, bringing together Charles Durning, Louis Gossett Jr., Randy Quaid, James Woods and Rocky actor Burt Young. Wambaugh famously disliked the finished adaptation after substantial changes were made to his screenplay, making the film an interesting chapter in the author's relationship with Hollywood.
