black, white and orange design. The upper section uses oversized headline typography followed by the campaign copy, “First Planet of the Apes. Then Beneath the Planet of the Apes. And now…” The central artwork uses concentric black-line imagery to form the figures of Cornelius and Zira, with the film title contained inside a bold orange circular device. Smaller silhouetted figures and photographic-style details appear within the radiating line pattern. The lower panel carries the cast and production credits, “Not Suitable for Children” classification text and visible

COLLECTOR’S NOTES: This is the
third film in the original Planet of the Apes series and takes the story in a very different direction, with Cornelius and Zira escaping the destruction of their world and travelling back to contemporary Earth. Roddy McDowall and Kim Hunter returned as Cornelius and Zira, with Ricardo Montalbán appearing as Armando.
20th Century Studios The Australian Daybill is particularly appealing because of its highly graphic, almost
Op Art-style concentric line design, giving it a very different visual character from the more illustrative posters used for other films in the series.
PROVENANCE: This original Australian cinema poster is being sold directly by the family of its original collector, a projectionist who screened films during their Australian theatrical release. It is supplied with documented provenance and a
Certificate of Authenticity confirming its originality and collection history, providing a direct connection between the poster and its working Australian cinema past.
