Dragnet is the 1954 feature-film adaptation of Jack Webb's influential police procedural, with Webb both directing and starring as Detective Sergeant Joe Friday. It brought the already successful radio and television franchise to cinemas through Warner Bros.

POSTER DESIGN FEATURES: Exceptionally minimalist Australian Daybill using only deep blue against white, dominated by a full-length graphic portrait of Jack Webb as Joe Friday. The huge JACK WEBB / DRAGNET typography and simple “My name’s Friday!” headline make this distinctly different from the more colourful American theatrical campaign.

COLLECTOR'S NOTE: Dragnet became one of the defining early police-procedural franchises, beginning on radio before moving to television and film. This Australian Daybill is particularly collectible for its stark locally produced artwork and prominent Jack Webb imagery.
