The Sex Machine is an Italian science-fiction sex comedy built around an energy crisis and a scientist's discovery that sexual activity can be converted into electricity. The film stars Gigi Proietti, Agostina Belli, Eleonora Giorgi and Christian De Sica.

POSTER DESIGN FEATURES: A wonderfully outrageous Australian exploitation design using black-and-white photographic imagery with vivid orange-red typography. The central image places the four principal characters around the film's fictional machinery, while the hand-lettered headline deliberately sells the film as “science friction.” The combination of lingerie imagery, retro technology, R classification and oversized red title makes it unmistakably 1970s exploitation advertising.

COLLECTOR'S NOTE: An unusual crossover between Italian sex comedy and science-fiction parody, making it considerably more distinctive than a conventional 1970s adult comedy.
