Along Came a Spider is a 1970 mystery thriller starring Suzanne Pleshette as the widow of a scientist who assumes another identity while investigating the circumstances surrounding her husband's death. Originally produced for American television, it subsequently received theatrical distribution internationally.

POSTER DESIGN FEATURES: Striking pink, black and white Australian Daybill dominated by a large photographic portrait of Suzanne Pleshette overlaid with spider-web graphics. A small silhouetted hanging figure appears in the upper corner, creating a particularly strong mystery-horror visual despite the film's thriller origins.

COLLECTOR'S NOTE: An interesting example of an American made-for-television production receiving its own Australian theatrical poster campaign. The Australian artwork is particularly effective, using spider-web and hanging-figure imagery to market the film much more like a psychological horror thriller. Suzanne Pleshette would shortly become widely known for her long-running role as Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show.
