Breakout is a 1975 action adventure starring Charles Bronson as a pilot hired to rescue an innocent man, played by Robert Duvall, from a Mexican prison using an audacious helicopter escape. The film was inspired by the real-life helicopter escape of Joel David Kaplan.

POSTER DESIGN FEATURES: Vibrant yellow, red and black Australian Daybill dominated by an illustrated portrait of Charles Bronson surrounded by helicopters, aircraft, prison guards and fleeing figures. The locally styled advertising puts Bronson's tough-guy persona front and centre, with large hand-lettered promotional headlines above and below the artwork.

COLLECTOR'S NOTE: A particularly strong Charles Bronson Daybill from the period immediately following Death Wish. Breakout also brings together Robert Duvall, Jill Ireland, John Huston and Randy Quaid, with a Jerry Goldsmith score. The film proved commercially successful and was notable for Columbia's then-unusual large-scale saturation-release campaign.
