March or Die is a 1977 adventure drama set in the 1920s, with Gene Hackman commanding a French Foreign Legion unit sent to protect an archaeological expedition in Morocco. The international cast includes Terence Hill, Catherine Deneuve, Max von Sydow and Ian Holm.

POSTER DESIGN FEATURES: Distinctive orange, black and white Australian Daybill featuring photographic cut-outs of Gene Hackman and Terence Hill above a mounted Foreign Legion charge. Particularly interesting is the Australian campaign's prominent “TRINITY'S BACK” headline, directly marketing the film around Terence Hill's popularity from the Trinity films.

COLLECTOR'S NOTE: March or Die has an unusually strong ensemble cast, while the Australian poster provides an interesting example of localised movie marketing. Contemporary production history indicates that much of the financing was secured partly because of Terence Hill's international popularity, which helps explain why the Australian Daybill sells the film so heavily around his Trinity persona. Gene Hackman was also injured after being thrown from a horse during production.
