2025 was a pivotal year in the 50-year journey of Sunset Framing & Gallery. This year is defined less by public events and more by the essential, behind-the-scenes work required to sustain a creative, service-based business in Port Macquarie. Like many small arts businesses navigating post-COVID financial pressures, changing consumer behaviour, and rising operating costs, we made the strategic decision to refocus on our core services — picture framing, customer experience, systems improvement, and the early stages of business diversification.This period of consolidation required difficult choices, including temporarily scaling back some outward-facing arts activity to protect the long-term future of the gallery. While challenging and often isolating, these decisions were made with care, responsibility, and a deep commitment to keeping a local, bricks-and-mortar framing and creative space available to the community. Throughout the year, our ongoing creative groups — particularly Friday Crafting Connections — remained a steady and meaningful presence, reinforcing the importance of continuity, connection, and shared creativity.The latter part of 2025 marked a gentle return to exhibitions and public arts engagement, signalling renewed momentum built on stronger foundations. This album documents a year of resilience, adaptation, and growth — one that quietly reshaped the gallery and prepared it for the next chapter.
