Our Journey with the 2024 Coastline Greater Port Macquarie Business Awards and Artwalk Port Macquarie 2024

Sponsorship of the 2024 Coastline Greater Port Macquarie Business Awards

We were honored to sponsor the 2024 Coastline Greater Port Macquarie Business Awards, a celebration that highlights the hard work and success of our local businesses. Our contribution involved handcrafting and designing 140 custom frames for the finalists, all done in-house at our Central Rd workshop. Witnessing the joy and pride of the finalists as they took selfies with their framed awards was immensely rewarding.

The frames were a labor of love, with Framer Scott constructing them and cutting the inner matt boards. Jackson sourced the appropriate frame moldings and cut the glass and backings, while Samantha assisted in locating frame moldings, matt boards, and fitting the certificates.

Our decision to sponsor the awards stems from our deep respect for local businesses, the backbone of our community. They sponsor local sports groups, fundraisers, create employment, and contribute to the town's economic viability. We also hold great admiration for Business Port Macquarie, a non-profit industry association dedicated to helping our local business community thrive.

The awards, launched in 2007, acknowledge the growth and success of businesses in Greater Port Macquarie. Each year, local businesses are encouraged to nominate and enter across various categories to share their success stories. Now in its 17th year, the awards continue to celebrate our region’s business achievements, with categories aligning with the Business NSW Regional and State Awards.

Congratulations to the Business Port Macquarie committee for organizing such a fantastic event, and kudos to all participating businesses, finalists, and winners!

Activation Space and Installation at Artwalk Port Macquarie 2024

We are super excited to be back near our old premises on Murray St for Artwalk Port Macquarie 2024 on June 7th, showcasing our commitment to community and creativity through a series of engaging and interactive installations.

Collaborative Installation Pieces

The collaborative pieces from the Creative Souls Collective group and Crafting Connections group added a new layer of connection and community spirit. These groups planned and created individual sections that came together to form larger art pieces. The Crafting Connections installation, made from “granny squares,” will be deconstructed post-Artwalk and turned into rugs for the local women and children's refuge, continuing their seven-year tradition of support. The Creative Souls Collective’s piece will remain in our creative space as a reminder of the power of collaboration and community connectedness.

Immersive Photo Booth

Photographer Cherie will lead the immersive photo booth, where participants will be photographed against a plain background and later digitally immersed into a background of their choice. This booth, themed around community, allows participants to choose from three backgrounds ranging from soft pastels to bold, almost fluorescent colors. These images will form a large collage representing the Greater Port Macquarie community, showcasing Cherie’s skills as a photomedia artist and her passion for visual records of local events.

Interactive Wall Projection

Our interactive wall projection, designed with bold colors and movement, invites participants to engage playfully. Projected onto the wall of the Murray St car park, it allows individuals to interact with the animations, creating fun and memorable experiences for all ages. This design aims to offer a free and interactive activity for families, understanding the importance of engaging children and creating enjoyable family moments. Join us in the carpark on the coastal side of the old ambulance building in Murray St, Port Macquarie to be part of this fun.
