A Moment In Time

Hi all,

We have been having so much fun with our vintage movie nights ... what was that, you dont know about or vintage movie nights!

Well let me tell you a little about it then.

Once a month, normally the first Friday of the month we put on a movie for friends and family of the gallery. The movies we show are all vintage or retro, ranging from the 1940's through to the 1980's. So far we have seen Jerry Lewis in the Bellboy, Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast At Tiffany's , Marilyn Monroe in Some Like It Hot, Jeff Bridges, Charles Grodin and Jessica Lange in King Kong and so many more.

Our next movie night will be on the 4th of May and the sensational Burt Reynolds will be staring in The Mean Machine also know as The Longest Yard.

These are small intimate nights with only about 10 people catered for with seating, we just want to offer a pleasant night with a little nostalgia.

Its a way we can say thank you to our framing community for supporting us while we are supporting the arts community.

Movies do have a bit of a “thing” within the business family, Scott the gallery owner and his father Stewart the previous owner both worked as projectionist in their previous careers.

So its very fitting that we show movies as a way of saying thank you.

Add in our amazing original movie poster collection and its movie lovers paradise in here, oh and I must mention the collection of books that are all based on movie history and facts that are available to read and or purchase.

Check out this little live video we did before the last movie night with gallery owner and framer Scott.

We have also been helping to collate a second movie poster collection that dates back to the 1940's and they are in amazing condition, it gives me goosebumps just thinking about them. Take yourself on a little imagination journey, put yourself into the 1940s and you are going to the movies, your all dressed up and walking into the theatre and you catch sight of the poster that’s telling you about the movie you are going to see. Now come back to Port Macquarie 2018 and that same poster is now part of a collection that you will be able to purchase from in the near future ..how amazing is that!

We will let everyone know when they are available but in the mean time you can see the current collect that dates back to the 1960s
